Os motores a gas\u00f3leo actuais tamb\u00e9m precisam de uma fase de aquecimento, mas escondem-na habilmente para que o condutor n\u00e3o se aperceba. Entrar no carro, rodar a chave e arrancar imediatamente: isto era impens\u00e1vel no passado com o diesel. Porque, com temperaturas frias, o motor a gas\u00f3leo tinha de aquecer primeiro. Era preciso esperar que a luz que representa uma bobina se apagasse.<\/p>\n<p>Para desgosto dos ocupantes que tremiam de frio, isto podia facilmente demorar um minuto, da\u00ed o famoso &#8220;minuto comemorativo de Rudolf Diesel&#8221;. Hoje em dia, o pr\u00e9-aquecimento do motor a diesel \u00e9 coisa do passado. Pelo menos \u00e0 primeira vista. Porque debaixo do capot, o motor a gas\u00f3leo continua a aquecer, embora por um per\u00edodo mais curto e sem que o condutor se aperceba.<\/p>\n<h2>Porque \u00e9 que os motores Diesel necessitam de pr\u00e9-aquecimento?<\/h2>\n<p>A raz\u00e3o \u00e9 o diferente processo de arranque dos motores a gasolina e a gas\u00f3leo. Os motores a gasolina t\u00eam<a href=\"\/produtos\/vela-de-ignicao-11005\/\"> velas de igni\u00e7\u00e3o<\/a> que produzem uma fa\u00edsca quando a igni\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 ligada. Isto inflama a mistura de gasolina e ar de f\u00e1cil combust\u00e3o no interior das c\u00e2maras de combust\u00e3o, o que provoca o arranque do motor. Pelo contr\u00e1rio, a auto-igni\u00e7\u00e3o, como o nome indica, n\u00e3o precisa de uma fa\u00edsca. O gas\u00f3leo comprime a mistura combust\u00edvel-ar de tal forma que esta aquece devido ao chamado calor de compress\u00e3o. Finalmente, a uma temperatura de cerca de 900 \u00b0C, ocorre a igni\u00e7\u00e3o e o gas\u00f3leo arranca.<\/p>\n<p>A baixas temperaturas exteriores, a mistura combust\u00edvel-ar demora mais tempo a aquecer e a inflamar-se. Para acelerar o processo, os motores diesel t\u00eam velas de incandesc\u00eancia el\u00e9ctricas. Estas velas sobressaem no cilindro e s\u00e3o aquecidas por um baixo fluxo de corrente. Isto assegura que o ponto de auto-igni\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 atingido mais rapidamente. No passado, os condutores ainda tinham de ativar o processo de aquecimento &#8211; o pr\u00e9-aquecimento do motor &#8211; rodando a chave da igni\u00e7\u00e3o at\u00e9 um determinado ponto e esperando que o sistema de pr\u00e9-aquecimento fizesse o seu trabalho. N\u00e3o \u00e9 este o caso dos motores a gas\u00f3leo, em que a auto-igni\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 iniciada com o apoio de velas de incandesc\u00eancia. Este processo de auto-igni\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 realizado da seguinte forma: o ar \u00e9 aspirado e fortemente comprimido, o processo de aspira\u00e7\u00e3o e compress\u00e3o aquece o ar a 900 graus, o ar quente \u00e9 ent\u00e3o misturado com gas\u00f3leo nas c\u00e2maras de combust\u00e3o e a mistura inflama-se. Na esta\u00e7\u00e3o fria, as velas de igni\u00e7\u00e3o el\u00e9ctricas ajudam a desencadear este processo. \u00c9 isto que se entende por pr\u00e9-aquecimento do motor.<\/p>\n<h2>Atualmente, os motores diesel ainda precisam de ser pr\u00e9-aquecidos?<\/h2>\n<p>Nos anos 90, a inven\u00e7\u00e3o da inje\u00e7\u00e3o common-rail com uma bomba de alta press\u00e3o tornou o pr\u00e9-aquecimento quase desnecess\u00e1rio. S\u00f3 \u00e9 realmente necess\u00e1rio em condi\u00e7\u00f5es de congelamento. Bastam alguns segundos ao ralenti e pode arrancar normalmente. No entanto, a temperatura do \u00f3leo demora muito mais tempo a subir do que a da \u00e1gua de arrefecimento, pelo que \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio esperar at\u00e9 20 quil\u00f3metros para que o \u00f3leo atinja a sua temperatura de funcionamento.<\/p>\n<p>Apesar dos avan\u00e7os nos ve\u00edculos a gas\u00f3leo, os motores de igni\u00e7\u00e3o por compress\u00e3o continuam a necessitar de pr\u00e9-aquecimento. No entanto, nos motores modernos com inje\u00e7\u00e3o direta, isso raramente \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio. Por exemplo, quando o term\u00f3metro desce muito abaixo do ponto de congela\u00e7\u00e3o, o gas\u00f3leo ainda precisa de uma curta fase de aquecimento. Para os condutores, no entanto, este processo j\u00e1 n\u00e3o est\u00e1 associado a qualquer tempo de espera for\u00e7ado e \u00e9 correspondentemente confort\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n<div
